Glasgow is Scotland's largest city and is home to galleries, museums, cathedrals, green spaces- making it an ideal city to explore with kids!

Here are seven fun things to do that are stimulating, education and most importantly, fun for kids of all ages.

Glasgow Science Centre

Glasgow Science Centre is one of Scotland’s most popular visitor attractions and provides a great day out for the whole family.

There’s a range of interactive exhibits which are suitable for all ages including the Wind Tunnel, the Hamster Wheel, the Bubble Wall, the Gravity Well and so much more.

You can book birthday parties and there are autism friendly hours to ensure that everybody can enjoy and learn together.

Take a break during your visit and relax in their café or visit the IMAX theatre for mini-blockbusters or full length feature films.

Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is one of Glasgow’s most popular free visitor attractions. There’s no need to book, you can just drop in and visit any time during their opening hours.

Discover animals, dinosaurs, sea life and even the elusive haggis! Immerse yourself in the interactive science exhibitions or simply relax and wander through the 22 different galleries. With over 8,000 objects on display there’s something for everyone.

There is also a restaurant which offers a full a la carte menu as well as light bites. And the café in the main foyer is a great place to grab a snack, sandwich, cake and drinks.

Glasgow Climbing Centre

The Glasgow Climbing Centre offers sessions for children aged 4+ with their adult and child climbing taster where adults and children can learn to climb together.

There’s a 'kids come and try' for children aged 7-14 who want to try out rope climbing or bouldering with no experience required.

Family taster sessions enable children and adults of all abilities to have fun exercising together.

Book a birthday party and you can choose to add a party meal in the award winning FlavourBomb Kitchen.

Flip Out Trampolining

Flip Out Glasgow is one of the largest trampoline centres in Europe. Kids can learn to jump, flip, bounce and somersault on the 34 trampolines.

There are 16 different attractions including E-Karting, interactive football, bumper cars, laser quest and soft play for all ages.

Flip Out is the ultimate kids party venue with several different packages available to ensure your flippers have the best time!

The Craft Pottery

The Craft Pottery is an independent pottery painting studio in Glasgow’s city centre.

Choose a piece of pottery and create your own unique design. The Craft Pottery will then glaze your masterpiece making it food safe. A great experience for all ages!

Or you can visit their sister studio, The Craft Pottery Studio, and get hands on with pottery wheel classes, courses and one off speciality workshops for both adults and children.

The Beach at Craigend Nursery

Craigend Nursey isn’t just about plants and gardening. They also have a giant indoor sandpit which lets children visit the beach when the Scottish weather doesn’t quite allow for a visit to the actual beach.

There are tables and chairs nearby where you can relax and observe with a cup of tea, slice of cake or anything else from the sandpit menu while children build, dig and play.

Splatter Art

Unleash your creativity and get messy at Glasgow’s Splatter Art Studio.

As part of your session you will be taken through different techniques, provided with tools including a paint gun and given protective clothing such as booties, glasses and a poncho so that you can really let loose when creating your masterpiece.

After your session you will be given a ‘take home box’ for your artwork and you can even opt to have a vintage polaroid picture taken so that you can really capture the memory of the day.

Childrens parties are coming to Splatter Art soon so keep an eye on their website for updates.
